Your data, your choice

Privacy and cookies

Read how ChouChou handles website data, reservations and cookies. You can change your cookie preferences here at any time.

You do not need to accept analytics or marketing cookies to visit the website or book a table. Use the buttons above to change your choice or disable all optional categories.

Who can you contact?

This notice covers chouchou.nl, the website of Restaurant ChouChou at Strandweg 159, 2586 JM Den Haag. For questions about your data, contact info@chouchou.nl or +31 70 205 9700.

Reservations and contact

The website loads the Zenchef booking widget, connecting your browser to Zenchef. Details entered there, including your name, contact details, date and party size, are used for your reservation. Zenchef provides information about processing and retention in the widget.

The contact form emails your enquiry directly to info@chouchou.nl, with a copy to our website partner SOMEHO at info@someho.nl. We use your details to handle your enquiry. The website does not store message content in its own database. A necessary session cookie and temporary security records protect the form against spam. These include a protected derivative of your IP address to limit submissions.

For reservation enquiries, we use the data needed to provide the requested service. For other messages, we use the details needed to communicate with you. Data still needed for an ongoing enquiry, dispute or legal obligation may be retained longer.

What do we measure with consent?

Analytics: Google Analytics measures page visits and use of the menu, for example. Marketing: Google Ads, Meta and TikTok measure advertising results, contact clicks and confirmed reservations. They may process cookie IDs, browser and device information, IP addresses and visited pages, and link data to their own services.

Our reservation measurement uses the booking number and, if available, the number of guests. This integration does not send your name, phone number, email address or message text. Clicking to book is not a confirmed reservation.

Analytics and marketing measurement are based on your consent. Without it, we do not load the corresponding tracking code. The Preferences setting permits optional personalisation; it currently does not set a separate language cookie on this website.

Providers and their notices

Google, Meta and TikTok may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy notices explain locations, transfers, safeguards and their own retention periods. A cookie’s lifespan is not the same as a provider’s data retention period.

Your rights and choices

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data. Depending on the processing, you may also object, request restriction or request data portability. Contact info@chouchou.nl. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Withdrawing consent stops our optional measurement from that point onwards. It does not affect earlier processing based on your consent. You can also delete previously placed cookies in your browser. Use providers’ privacy controls to request deletion of data they hold.
